More Snow for the Rockies!

#1 Postby CaptinCrunch » Tue Nov 09, 2004 12:10 pm

The slow-moving upper level storm that brought heavy snow to the high mountains, and heavy rain and thunderstorms to lower elevations, will produce similar weather today.
Snow will cause slow travel in the Wasatch, in the mountains of western and central Colorado, and in the mountains of Wyoming. Snow will accumulate 1-3 inches at 7,000 feet and above; the snow level will lower to around 5,000 feet tonight in Wyoming. At elevations above 8,000 feet, there will be 3-6 inches of new snow; at elevations above 9,000 feet in Colorado, there will be 6-12 inches.

Snow and flurries persist off of lakes Erie and Ontario, with the most persistent band leaving another 1-3 inches in the general area from Rochester, to Syracuse, down to the Finger Lakes. As high pressure builds eastward, the lake-effect will shut off later today.
