WASHINGTON -- A study finds rising temperatures have melted an area of the Arctic sea ice bigger than Texas and Arizona combined. Scientists say the annual average amount of sea ice has shrunk about 8 percent in the past 30 years.
The Arctic Climate Impact Assessment released Monday is a four-year study by 300 scientists in eight Arctic-bordering nations, including the United States.
The report says that over the past 50 years, average yearly temperatures in Alaska and Siberia rose about 3.6 degrees to 5.4 degrees. The temperature boost is even greater in winter-time.
The report says Arctic regions are experiencing "some of the most rapid and severe climate change on earth." Melting ice has raised sea levels about 3 inches in the past 20 years.
The study says longer term impacts can be "reduced significantly" by cutting greenhouse gas emissions.

It is very interisting but as I have said in the past it is likey more spkalation and guess and throres at bests.Global warming is a subject and a debate that has very strong opinions on both sides of the argurement. Some claims like this report we are in deaverstateing global warming and everything will vashesh in 100 years or sooner. But then there are others who claims that we are going into a colder climate and are on the verage of an ice ages lol.The true fact is no one really knows the real anwer to the furture of our climate.LIkey in 10 to 20 years we will have more knowlege but I really don't think we will ever have a 100 percent knowlege of the earth climate.Because it has been here way before man was brought up.The things that we do know that are fact is that Earth climate does change. And Earth has been through different climate states such as lce ages and warm periolds. That lasted in some cases thousands of years. And we also know the fact that climate has change reather abroutly in a matter of decades from past ice ages and warm periolds. And we also know that the earth has warmed but the debate is and what we disagree amonghs are selfs is reather it's caused from man or if it just a part of the ever changeing nauturel part of this climate cycle.
