Hi guys,
I am new to this, and am having trouble finding posts on some of my questions, but one of them is:
Do any of you have any of the forcast maps? with the weather on them, etc. (I may sound quite dumb.) or know/ inference when some snow will arrive in Illinois (close to chicago)
Thanks!

I'll keep you posted on snow in the Midwest this winter! As far as winter weather over the next couple of weeks, the most promising chance I see now is about 2 weeks away, which is the weekend after Thanksgiving! That's a good ways out, but several computer model ensembles (a group of similar models that output slightly different solutions) are hinting towards very cold weather near and after Thanksgiving. Of course, cold doesn't always = snow, but any phasing of the active southern branch (due to the weak El Nino) and the arctic jet will probably brew up a big storm somewhere in the eastern 1/2 of the US in 1.5-2.5 weeks. This could be one of those storms that November is known for (very low pressure and intense winds). Stay tuned and we'll keep you updated!
