Man sets himself on fire outside White House gate
Apparently a man of Arab descent doused himself with gasoline and set himself on fire outside the White House gate a few minutes ago. He reportedly began to scream and has now been taken to a hospital.

Some could say it beats burning a flag.
Seriously, I wouldn't say that. But I did think about that as a form of protest when we were discussing the other in the PA.
Not sure if this made national news or not, but an Egyptian man who was here in TX after his visa expired drove into a library in Houston. http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/news/111504 ... brary.html

We had someone drive through a post office window here back in the Spring. Brought a whole new meaning to "Drive-Thru window"

Man Sets Himself on Fire Near White House
Associated Press
Monday, November 15, 2004; 3:00 PM
A man set himself on fire outside the White House this afternoon.
D.C. Fire and EMS spokesman Alan Etter said the 52-year-old man suffered serious burns to his head, back, arms and face and was conscious when medics took him to Washington Hospital Center.
There was evidence of an ignitable liquid at the scene, Etter said. It remains unclear who the man is or why he set himself on fire.
Etter said it happened around 2 p.m. on the sidewalk of Pennsylvania Avenue near the guard post on the north side of the White House. Witnesses reported seeing the man in flames and hearing him screaming in pain.

Wouldn't it be "Drive-INTO Window" in this case?

"A Falls Church man who worked as a federal informant on terrorism set himself on fire in front of the White House" Monday, "hours after announcing his suicide attempt and citing his growing despondency over how the FBI managed his case," the Washington Post reports. Mohamed Alanssi "approached the northwest guardhouse on Pennsylvania Avenue about 2:05 p.m. and asked the security detail to deliver a note to President Bush. When uniformed Secret Service officers turned him away, he stepped about 15 feet from the guard post and used a lighter to ignite his jacket."
