So, this is coming this towards Houston? I just got home from dinner and noticed some lightening to the west of town, and a little bit of mist... But nothing else to write home about... Let me know, and everyone keep safe!

It's heavy rain anbd frequent lightning at the moment. With the slow movement of these storms, flooding has been a huge problem in Lavaca and especially Victoria County including the city of Victoria. Houston still ain't out of it overnight as heavy rains could be prolonged potentially by the storms slow forward motion. We'll see.

And now some of that is trying t omove into the HOuston area proper. Poor El Campo has had over a foot of rain since last night and has anothe super cell moving through right now. This whole area of weather is expected to hang around and move back and forth over the area for the next few days. FFwarnings continue in the Wharton and Colorado County areas SW of Houston as the cells down in that area are dropping rain at around 2" per hour and not letting up!

On top of this we are expecting another round like this on Tuesday.

SO are these going to affect the Houston area?

They are hard to tell becasue of their slow movement..

Its been raining out here all night and its still raining..

All I can report is that my backyard looks like a lake..

I'll join that backyard lake club.

We had .93" yesterday and have had another .69" since 8 this morning. It appears we are in for an all day event for most of the Houston metro area. About all we can do is keep a watch on things and pray for the best because the entire area is saturated. Down El Campo way to our SE they have had over 14" of rain and it is still falling. Major flooding is going on there with people in shelters. It could move into the Houton area proper but all we can do is watch at this point. This is the product of a stationary front over us with a stationary upperlevel low attached and a cold front moving down our way and they are moving back and forth over the entire area so we actually could end up with several soaking episodes.

Get the oars ready!!
