I agree with my friend John Morales. A Meteorologist that works to informs the public should be extremely well prepared to give the best information to the audience, and not repeat, or read what the National Weather Service says or the Weather Channel. During the Jeanne incident here in South Florida, a Meteorologist which name will not be mentioned, said that Jeanne had been stationary over the Bahamas, which as you know, Jeanne never stopped moving in its way after the loop, heading toward Florida. This person was asked why he/she said that? The answer was that because channel 7 said it, this person also said it. We need persons in the T.V. that can answer any question about Meteorology without any though, unfortunately, that's not happening.

Hopefully as time progresses this will improve the quality of the OCM'S. Of course no station will be required to have certified OCM's on board either. Hopefully all will try to though.
