Heavy fog in Pakistan calls off pro golf tourney

#1 Postby senorpepr » Mon Nov 29, 2004 9:49 pm

LAHORE: Heavy fog in Lahore interrupted the third round of the 37th Pakistan Open Golf Championship being played at the Royal Palm and Country Club on Saturday.

Poor visibility forced the organizers to call off the day’s play, as allowed under golf and tournament rules. The leading contenders and hopefuls were disappointed. In today’s (Sunday) round, only 40 professional and 20 amateurs golfers will be playing.

Nadeem Inyat from Karachi Golf Club is leading followed by Imdad Hussain and Muhammad Sajid. Senate Chairman Mohammadmian Soomro will be the chief guest at the prize distribution at 5:00pm.
