Economic "payback" against U.S.?

#1 Postby streetsoldier » Tue Apr 15, 2003 4:06 pm

Several Arab and "other" nations are considering "ditching" the dollar (which is the usual medium of exchange worldwide) for the Euro...this would mean a wholesale sell-off of securities, massive exchanges, and a swift devaluation of U.S. currency.

OK, this is getting scary. If one is knowledgeable in prophesy and knows how to connect the dots, this is what Revelations and related scripture said was going to happen. We had such discussions when the Euro dollar was first introduced. One world currency first - one world government next :o Question is where does the balance of power go :?: As I said before, it may not be the US, but somewhere in Europe :o

Steve, don't get in a panic yet. :-) The dollar is a lot closer to "one world currency" than the Euro by a far reach. One world government is even further off.... :-)

This would have an effect on oil prices as well. The euro is doing better than the dollar. If all these Arab countries were to go to the Euro, so would OPEC and as a result we would have to pay more for oil... result... higher gas prices!

Ahh...revelations. Do you know how many times the world was supposed to end? How many people were the anti-Christ? How many times we were in the "end of times"? The ancients threw together a book with vague future possibilities, always up for interpretation. For those who think, they think nothing of this nonsense.

Ok you hit a sore spot there, non sence??? well thats just another interpretation isnt it....the end is near, everyday its one day closer, therefore the saying we are getting closer to the end will continue, think about that....

Let's all be real careful about calling other's religous beliefs non-sence!

We can disagree without this.... hopefully this is enough said on this subject!

I disagree that we are in the end-times. For one, If I recall my Bible we won't know when the end-times are. Without getting into a detailed discussion on the prophecies, I can give at least as many talking points on what hasn't transpired yet. There have been at least three times that I can recall where people got on an "End Times" kick. The best advice I ever heard is to strive to be ready at all times and then you don't have to worry when it does comes :-)

On the other point of this discussion, I would like to point out that the US also provides a ton of aide and support to some of these countries. If they want to get into a global economic war, plenty of pressure can be brought to bear by the good old US!

hehe dolphin, my bible also says we want know when , but my bible also gives us clues to help us determine what stage we may be at, I didnt say we were vanishing tomorrow, just that things are falling into place rather well if you read the entire book of revelation.
hey its all i have to go on, so let me relish in it

It's not in my Profile...but I am a fairly competent Biblical scholar (not just from reading KJV, NSV, etc., but also in Latin, koine and Aramaic), and...we ain't anywhere NEAR "there" yet.

Take a "chill pill"...the worst (and best) is yet to come, but not in MY lifetime.
