Got to a high of 55.7 today. After yesterday only reaching 48.1. It has been a very cold past two days. I wonder what tomorrow will bring. Hopefully just a bit warmer because my dad wants to put up the lights on the house.

Very cold at the moment. Not as cold as last night however. Only 34.7 right now. Last night at this time we were sitting at 31.9.

It's about 50 degrees here right now with a nice cloud deck over us at the moment. Expecting rain later in the day then a cold air mass to move in with frigid (for us) overnight lows to start the new week. Possibly some very strong Santa Ana winds as well.

Hope everyone had a great Turkey Day. Mine was okay, could have been better, could have been worse.

well, its crunch time around here.... papers galore! Two are due on Wednesday (one is completely done... it deals with Global Warming and the oil drilling in the Arctic) and the other is a pollution control paper on a company that I picked... I have to do a presentation on that topic also.

Finals are Dec 17th and Dec 20th.

I'm heading down to Mobile on Dec 29th-Dec 30th and then driving over to New Orleans on Dec 30th-Jan 1st with a bunch of my friends... The trip is actually Dec 28th-Jan 2nd... we are driving down. I can't wait!

On Saturday we had snowflakes falling... that was neat, however ground too warm for snow.

I've needed hot chocolate... temperatures have been in the lower-mid 30s during the day... upper teens-lower 20s in the morning. Just a little cold

Shannon :)

Hi Shannon, long time no see. Hope you stop by again soon. :D

It's cold here tonight (by our standards), tryiong to stay as warm as I can without turning on the heater (to save on the bills). Last night I gave in and turned it on only because the wind made it feel so cold. :(

I have not been feeling normal the past few days, I don't know why. :( Just don't know what is going on...

Other than that not much else is new. I register for my college classes tomorrow so wish me luck! :D

We got down to 26* lastnight...when I woke up at 5am it was 27*....this is for the birds! I thought I moved to warm, sunny, southern cali, not Alaska! I'm not thrilled with this weather...ha! and I thought I wanted our next move to be to Northern California...having serious second thoughts on that one!

Josh, we've had the heat on for a week now...I'll hate the bill too, but I love the warmth!

Donna, :)

Where in Ohio are you heading? I grew up in Cincy and Hamilton. :)

Eric 8-)

Hi Eric! I remember reading in the past that you grew up there. We drove thru Wed night around 8pm heading toward Mansfield. Cincy is exactly the halfway point of the trip. I think Cincy is just beautiful coming up I-71 from KY ... all the multi-colored lights and the stadium reflecting off the river. One of these trips, I'll make Jim pull over so I can photograph it.
On the way back Sunday, we took the I-275 bypass around the east side of town, because the game was letting out downtown right about that time. Man, what a game that was!!

I also saw a billboard on the north side of town about an IMAX movie called "The Forces of Nature" including tornado footage. Anybody seen it? I read on Weathermatrix that it was okay, nothing great.

Well, my sister-in-law and I broke our old shopping record. Last year we shopped 14 hrs the day after Thanksgiving. It'll be tough to beat this year's record of 15 1/2 hrs. Man, I was sore all weekend from carrying bags on my arms and from shivering outside Kaufmann's for 45 mins until they opened at 6am. :froze:

Shannon - What kind of crazy weather are you having there?!! Think long and hard about where that next move might be. :thermo:

Hey Jen where do you play handbells? I am in the handbell choir at my church-Memorial Drive Christian Church. We go to febfest every year.

And yep we were/are freezing our tail feathers off(or at least GalvestonDuck is)by our standards this am(34º at my abode). Some of the Hot Chocaolate sounds just right!!

Well I'll be dipped! It's not too often we stumble across another ringer. I play at Bear Creek United Methodist and I'll be seeing you at Feb Fest! I've got so many bells to man this year I'm working on my 6-in-hand technique.
:hehe:

Are y'all playing anything special for Christmas this year? I'm kind of bummed as we have so many new folks we're limiting ourselves to playing carols in the narthex between services. Always great to have a pair of new hands though and we're grateful so many have joined in recently. Gotta start somewhere. :-)

OK, this is getting too weird!!! I suppose you are going to tell me you sang at Carnegie Hall in April 2002 too! I went there with your choir and 6 others. We even practiced at your church once before we did the presentation here in Houston.

We are doing 9 different selections this Sunday and I don't even know what they are    since I haven't been at practice for 2 weeks due to family issues(in-law helath and Mother visitng). I guess I will find out around 6:15 this evening. As far as the six in hand goes I can only say one thing- :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: I ring the lower bells, so there is not even any 2 in hand with that!

<Theme from Twilight Zone spinning in head> I missed the Carnegie performance in 2002, but heard our choir do a performance up at the church afterward. I really miss being involved in choir but just don't have the extra time to devote to it. Besides, I'd have to sing with the tenors now. ;-) Now that I think of it, that's the most fun part to sing anyway, so I might just have to rethink this!

You must be some kind of sight reader to go into playing NINE pieces blind! Here's some back atcha!
:notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

What time do services start? I just might swing on by to hear how you do!

I can sight read pretty well actually, if it is my bells, and sometimes if it isn't too complicated others too. After I see what we're doing tonight I may run screaming from the room too!!!     Hopefully my part isn't too complicated and I can easily pick it up.

Services start at 10:45am and we are at the corner of Bunker Hill and Memorial, if you are serious. if you do make it I am the biggest choir member(either choir) besides our director who is also our Associate minister and.......I sing tenor!!!!
