THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BALTIMORE MD/WASHINGTON DC HAS ISSUED
A WIND ADVISORY FOR WEDNESDAY. A STRONG COLD FRONT WILL CROSS THE
BLUE RIDGE BY MID MORNING...PRESSING EAST TO THE CHESAPEAKE BAY
BEFORE NOON. WINDS WILL STRENGTHEN FROM THE WEST AND GUST BETWEEN 45
AND 50 MPH WITH THE COLD FRONTAL PASSAGE DURING THE LATE
MORNING...LASTING THROUGH THE AFTERNOON HOURS.

BE SURE TO SECURE ALL OUTDOOR LOOSE ITEMS SUCH AS GARBAGE CANS
BEFORE THE GUSTY WINDS ARRIVE DURING THE MID TO LATE MORNING HOURS.
PEDESTRIANS SHOULD BE AWARE THAT THESE GUSTY WINDS MAY ALSO ALLOW
SOME OLDER OR DISEASED TREES TO FALL.

Yeah the last windstorm tore up part of my back porch roof. I'm NOT looking forward to tomorrow morning's 50-mph gusts.

It's claming down here, a bit, but, earlier, when
I left work to carry an MRI back over to the
hospital, the wind had torn the door off of the
E.R. gang's breakroom, at the hospital! That's
some WIND! The rain has moved through here,
as well.

my school nearly burned down bc the power went out. the backup generator overheated, caught fire, was put out, but then had a risk of exploding, so they cancelled school. gusts to 40 right now, maybe gusts later of 50-55.

AN INTENSE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM OVER LAKE ONTARIO LATE THIS MORNING
IS EXPECTED TO MOVE ALONG THE SAINT LAWRENCE RIVER VALLEY THIS
AFTERNOON AND NIGHT. A COLD FRONT ASSOCIATED WITH THIS LOW WILL
CROSS OUR ENTIRE REGION AROUND NOON. STRONG SOUTH WINDS PRECEDING
THIS FRONT WILL BE FOLLOWED BY EVEN STRONGER WEST WINDS BEHIND THIS
FRONT THIS AFTERNOON. SUSTAINED WINDS FROM THE WEST SHOULD INCREASE
TO 25 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS TO AROUND 50 MPH. GUSTS TO AROUND 55 MPH
ARE POSSIBLE OVER SOME OF THE HIGHER TERRAIN IN NORTHEAST
PENNSYLVANIA AND NORTHWEST NEW JERSEY.

THE COMBINATION OF THE WINDS FOR SEVERAL HOURS COUPLED WITH THE
RECENT HEAVY RAIN HAVE MADE SHALLOW ROOTED TREES IN OUR REGION VERY
SUSCEPTIBLE TO BEING KNOCKED DOWN. EXPECT SOME POWER OUTAGES. IF
THESE WINDS COME TO FRUITION, TREES WILL BE KNOCKED DOWN AND ALONG
WITH THEM WILL COME POWER LINES. OTHER LOOSE OBJECTS SUCH AS GARBAGE
AND RECYCLING PAILS WILL BE TOSSED AS IF THEY WERE LEAVES.

IF YOU LIVE ACROSS EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA, NEW JERSEY, EASTERN
MARYLAND OR DELAWARE YOU ARE URGED TO HAVE PREPARATIONS DONE FOR
THESE STRONG WINDS. BY NOW SECURE ANY LOOSE OUTDOOR OBJECTS, LIKE
TRASH CANS OR HOLIDAY DECORATIONS. IF POSSIBLE DO NOT PARK YOUR
VEHICLE OR CONGREGATE UNDER TREES. YOUR NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE
WILL CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE PROGRESS OF THE STORM AND KEEP YOU

Very windy overnight. I woke up near the beginning of it and was looking out the window and could see blue flashes of light all over the place. Widespread power outages over my area. American Electric Power reported as many as 3000 customers without power at one point I do believe. Ill check and see if that was the official number. Many still without power at this time. Looking to be fully restored by midnight tonight. Winds were gusting to nearly 60 mph. Sustained nearly 40-45.
