"I'll be Home for Christmas"... When I was stationed in Turkey, some 8,000 miles from home, that song "did it" to me every time.

I have loved "Let There Be Peace on Earth" since I was a kid singing in the church choir! I have always felt kind of like it was MY song.

I heard "Christmas Shoes" only once last year and it made me cry like a baby! When my oldest was in preschool we lost a mom to breast cancer during the christmas season.

I think Christmas shoes "gets me" more than any Christmas song. I bawled the first time I heard it and probably got at least teary eyed everytime since including just now reading the lyrics. O Holy Night is on of the classics I love to sing. Christmas is such a wonderful time to be a member of a choir, not that you have to be one to sing any of the classic christmas songs we all love.

I'm with Duck on Grown Up Christmas List. Also...Let There Be Peace On Earth is a great song to sing by candlelight on Christmas Eve.

Here's a working link to The Christmas Shoes by the Three of Hearts. Ignore the request to install the language and simply play the tune.

I have to go along with The Big Dog and Weathermom with Let There Be Peace on Earth.

My mother passed away 10 years ago this Dec. 17 and Let There Be Peace on Earth was sung at her funeral. I can't hear it without tearing up.

They just played that song on the radio here and I started crying for the exact same reason. For some reason I always think of mom when I hear that song. That and the fact that it's sung and orchestrated so beautifully make it hard not to cry when I hear it. It's always been one of my all-time favorite songs.
