EXPERIMENTAL HURRICANE FORECAST
TROPICAL STORM OTTO
NJN WEATHER CENTER
955 AM WED DECEMBER 1ST 2004

Tropical Storm Otto has sent the hurricane season into OT for the 2nd year in a row. Otto looked pretty impressive yesterday but may already be showing signs of weakening.

At 10 am.. Otto's winds were down to 45 mph. Yesterday there could have been some speculation that Otto would become a minimal cane before weakening but I don't believe this will occur. Waters are marginally favorable.

Otto should continue to meander and slowly die off. He should also be the final named storm of the 2004 season.

Experimental 5 day forecast for Otto:
Track and intensity forecast subject to errors, some by as much as several 100 miles.

Today: Slow mover.. East or South. Max Winds: 45 mph
Thursday: Drifting South. Max Winds: 45 mph
Friday: Still moving slow, maybe a little faster. Max Winds: 45 mph
Saturday: Becoming Extra tropical perhaps. Max Winds: 40 mph
Sunday: Officially ending hurricane season as Otto dissipates. Max Winds: 35 mph
