Fox reported SH's wife is believed to be in Syria...but I doubt this has anything to do with SH or family. This is the first of many tatical moves the US will make against Syria to show them who is running the show now. We need to take the same attitude with the damn Russians!

The United States shut it down because it was pumping oil illegally to Syria from Iraq. In other words, Syria was not paying for the oil. Maybe that is why Syria allowed Iraqi leaders to enter that country, they know NO MORE FREE OIL FOR THEM!

Are you serious Linda, they were basically "stealing" the oil?

My take on the news was that Saddam was pumping the oil through Syria to by-pass the UN sanctions (oil-for -food program). I'm sure he was getting paid from whoever was buying the oil. Syria I'm sure was getting a nice handling fee as well!

BTW, intelligence from several sources shows that most of the "deck of cards" players ARE in Syria...but without that oil, how are they going to "gas up" their Rolls-Royces, MGB's or Daimler -Benz's?

I've seen figures of 200,000 barrels of oil a day. At even $10.00/barrel a day that is 2 million dollars a day. I guess that pays off a whole bunch of people!

You are correct Marshall. You know how first reports can be, especially when they feel it is "breaking news" Like Rumsfeld said, "Never believe first reports"

it is the least we can do. they were pumpimg the oil through syria to get illegal payments. we need to take out the terrorists in syria and lebanon, but not occupy those countries.
