You are correct of course, but you reminded me of a comment from one of the Brits in the office. Speaking of drinkers vs. non-drinkers: Just think, how non-drinkers feel is the best they can look forward to all day. At least the rest of us have a shot at something better!

And as for YOU vb - I'm so glad to have provided you such great enjoyment at my expense!

Jen, it's almost time to go home. Hope you're feeling better. Pick up a milkshake on your way home. Those always seem to help me. (Now you don't really want to hear my hangover stories today - I'll save those for another day) Take 4 Ibuprofen when you get home, drink your milkshake and go to bed. Call me in the morning.

That milkshake idea doesn't sound half bad. I think I'll actually give it a try. Only 15 minutes to go before I can drag my badly abused liver home. Feels like I've been mauled by a rabid dog.

My thanks to everyone for helping to keep me awake and, if not on my game, at least somewhat aware today. Later!

Hey since there's all sorts of advice floating around, what to drink after a night of drinking to not drinking at all (wiseguy Bill!!!), I forgot something Jen. My husband's sister and family vacationed in Italy a few years ago. Wine was readily flowing and a few mornings, they didn't feel so good. But their hosts were, natives that were operating a small cruise line. Finally she asked how they did it (besides probably growing up on the stuff from toddler years on). He said they always eat a yogurt cup before a night of partying. The yogurt coats your GI tract and protects it from abuse. She tried it the rest of the trip and swears by this trick now.
I always have yogurt on hand anyway, and if I think about it, I eat one before going out. Seems to work for me. But I swear by my pacing trick - a beer, a soda pop, a beer, a soda pop. No more beer but several glasses of iced water. I'm a lightweight I know....he he. My next door neighbor paces too, but her style goes like this....margarita/corona/margarita/corona/margarita/corona. She sees my soda pop and laughs - pacing Mary? I say I sure am! I walk away smiling b/c I know she'll be dragging the next day and I won't be!

I don't drink hard liquor anymore, but I would think drinking something like Crown and water would be good because it would keep you hydrated better then drinking something mixed with Coke or Seven Up.
I am on a morphine based, sustained-release pain killer called Kadian (lowest dose 20 mg). I found that drinking a few low carb Black Cherry Bacardi Silvers doesn't mess with me at all as long as I alternate with water. Those only contain 4% alcohol which is a little lower than the average beer.

<does happy dance> I have survived! Probably only about 85% today, and still a tad crusty, but the death watch has been lifted. Catch this: I finally get home yesterday, shower off the crust left from outgassing kerosene all day, crawl into my favorite jammies and hit the couch. Dave gets home 20 minutes later rarin' to go buy our Christmas present - new plasma TV. He informs me I MUST go with him. Lord save me, I actually rose from the dead and trudged out to Best Buy. Did I need to be there. Not EVEN! He owes me big time....
Mary - I like the idea of the yogurt. Never heard that one before but since I've got major bad gut problems, it sure won't hurt to give it a try. As for pacing, I usually follow your pattern of alternating with water and never have a problem. BUT.... I swear the margaritas at this place are drugged. Believe me, it's going to be a loooooooooooong time before I can even look at tequila!

Glad you're feeling better and sooooo glad it's Friday so you have several days to recuperate. Unless, however, you plan on partying all weekend. Tequila is a real killer!!!!!!! I'll stick with Canadian Club and water or a nice Chardonnay or Pino Grigio. In fact that sounds like a plan right after work!!!!
I can't imagine changing from those nice cozy warm jammies and going out to shop!!!!!!!!
Have a great day

Saltines.... Bread... anything that absorbs liquor in your stomach... and cannot forget water!
If you do happen to meet your uncle ralphor worship the porclein goddess
... then you might want to resort to bread and water.
But beware of the *hic* hiccups

Great post there pojo!
