I still need to ask for prayers for my father-in-law. He is still at the hospital even though the doctor today told him he could go home. Unfortunately he is in congestive heart failure(which we already knew)and the heart attack of course has only exacerbated this. The basics of it are that at 86 yrs. old his body is literally worn out and about to give out. Without stating it outright yet the doctor has said that basically all we can do is make him comfortable. He is obviously scared to go home since he feels secure at the hospital with oxygen on demand and constant monitoring of his heart. He and my mother-in-law can not afford for him to just continuously stay at the hospital. I could go on and on about it, but the basics are it is taking a toll on the entire family and we need your prayers, mainly that God's will be done, whatever that may be and that we all have the strength to deal with that will.

Prayers are pouring in from my whole family.

Praise to Mithras! Today I left with five dollars in my wallet and needed six dollars. It just so happened that there was an extra dollar in my jeans pocket. I have no idea how it got there because seriously, I should have noticed it when I put my jeans on. Anyhow, I believe that Mithras has provided for me.
I pray for world peace and mountain dew.

I will up the prayers for your friend KC and also for David's family, as well as Eric's family tonight.
That has to hurt Joshua. I hope you are doing well.

Just got a call a few minutes ago from my Aunt Carol in Ohio (one of Mom's sisters) and she said that my Aunt Marlene (who lives in IN and is my Mom's sister-in-law)...anyway, recently some suspected cancer cells were found in her lymph node system and she will be going into the hospital on Monday for some more tests.
Her name is Marlene Vaughn and please be in prayer for her and her husband Larry.
Thank you,
Eric

Praying for all those requesting prayers, but also requesting some prayers. One of the doctors I work for found a knot on his neck over the Thanksgiving holidays. He went to the doctor and they did a biopsy and it is squameous (sp) cell carcinoma. This is a very very bad cancer that does not respond to chemotherapy and the knot is in a bad place and they can not get it all, so they give him 1-3 years survival. He resigned last Monday and is going to a Cancer clinic that deals with this type of cancer to see if they can do anything. He is a great neurologist and a wonderful person. Please pray for him and his family.
Also just to let ya'll know, I work with little Jesse Arbogast's mother. He is the little boy that was severly bitten by a shark in Pensacola a couple of years ago. He is doing better. His mom says, Jesse is there, they just have to get him out again. He is talking some, not easily understood, but usually makes himself clear somehow. He is going to school for 2 hours a day and then to therapy for the afternoon. The irony of this story is this family has faced a similar situation with their oldest child. He was hit by a car and they told them he would never walk or talk again. He graduated from high school year before last and is going to the local community college! Prayer works!!!
May the Lord Bless You and remember to keep Christ in your Christmas.

Prayers coming your way this morning from Phoenix, Mary, and thank you for the update on Jesse and his family.
I learned of the passing of a lifelong friend this morning...and how stunning it is to face that kind of news...especially during the holidays.
My prayers go out to his family and to Middlebury College in Vermont where he was a professor of Geography.
How quickly my mind turned to youthful memories; how quickly the clock has ticked.....
I'll miss him, but have wonderful memories.

*UPDATE* on my Aunt Marlene in Indiana...
From an email to my folks last night...she says:
I got really bad news today. They (her doctor) have determined that it is non-small cell carcinoma which means it is basically untreatable. Donna, (one of my Mother's sisters) maybe you can pass that along to your Mom and Carol (my Mother's other sister). I will have a radiation treatment Tues. morning as it is suppose to ease the pain in my hip. Dr. Selby says since I am only 57 that he is going to have me consult with an oncologist about some Chemo treatments. He said normally he wouldn't do that as it will probably not have an effect but because of my age he thinks it would be worth a try. Keep us in your prayers as we are all pretty upset right now. The girls are taking it badly and I think I just refuse to believe it right now as well as I have felt except for the hip pain. Anyway, that is the status as of today. Love to all, Marlene

Also we got word that a good friend of our's from our Ohio days named Cliff Dyson has prostate cancer...please remember him, his wife Judy, their daughter Amber, her husband Brian and their grandsons Cody and Logan in your prayers, too.

Thank you so very much,
Eric
