Got a bit of a dumb question though.

You know the maps wxguy25, stormsfury and others post that show the entire N Hemisphere, Where can I find those maps?

I have a feeling that THIS is gonna be THE winter to watch those kinds of maps, as well as the models. Thanks to anyone in advance.

Scroll down to models, then contoured plots and select a global model, then choose the N. Hemisphere as your location. :)

Alright I have another dumb weenie question.

Is geopotential height the same as a pressure surface (like 500mb, 700mb, 850mb)?

umm ... I've had something on my website with the ECMWF maps (3 different views - US, N America, and N Hemisphere since last year), and furthermore, you don't have to select ANY parameters ... I've done all those for you on the site, excepting special overlays ... just scroll and choose on any of the 3 toolbars)

BTW, make sure you set your display setting to at LEAST 1024 x 768 ... and they open in an inline frame window (works with IE, and Mozilla) ...
