That's just GROSS

#1 Postby alicia-w » Mon Dec 06, 2004 12:11 pm

http://money.cnn.com/2004/11/15/news/funny/hardees/index.htm

St. Louis-based Hardee's said its new burger boasts two 1/3-pound slabs of Angus beef, four strips of bacon, three slices of American cheese and some mayonnaise -- all on a buttered, toasted, sesame seed bun.

The "Monster Thickburger" will cost about $5.49, Hardee's said. But chowing down on the 1,420-calorie burger, which contains 107 grams of fat, will cost around $7 with fries and a soda.

I dont eat at the Hardee's in our area anyway. It's nasty but this is just EXCESSIVE...

My 16-year-old, Coppertop, eats like a BIRD usually; not very good for someone who busts his @$$ in school, then part-time work, if not 5 nights a week in Tae Kwon Do. :(

As to all that MEAT and high calories? He'd use them all up in any single day...and he WILL eat them. :larrow:

Thank God for small favors!

6 months ago, I might have considered it. But a heart attack last June at the age of 44 has made me re-evaluate my eating habits tremendously.

Oh God alicia! I'm so sorry!

jen - I hear you girl! It looks yummy but the grease plus soda would do me in. I have IBS, so I don't need to add fuel to the fire!

Yup, the grease would knock me out for 2 days straight. But I can still dream I guess. Nothing better than grease & starch. Always been a big biscuits and country gravy fan myself. Oh to be back in my 20's when I could eat all that great stuff!

alicia-w,

The OT dietary rules made very good sense when the people of Israel were nomadic herders...given the lack of proper hygiene and no FDA, the Biblical injuctions would make sense today, if a person was reduced to live as they did.

:sun: :sun: :sun: :sun: :sun: :sun: :sun: :sun:

And, here's my tribute to the "Festival of Light"!

Shema Yisroel, baruch atta Adonoi elohenu, Adonoi echod!

OT Jews? Not quite sure I follow you with that statement. Second, your doctor should put you on a high protein diet. Not following you with your burger post either.

OT = Old Testament, i.e. dietary laws defined in Leviticus.

What is it you're not following? The thought of a 1420 calorie hamburger doesnt seem mildly excessive to you?

Whywould my doctor put me on a high protein diet? What does that have to do with anything?

For your heart! My Dad had quadruple bypass and he is now on a high protein diet.

My heart attack wasnt caused by that. It's a faulty chamber. Thanks for the suggestion though.

How would you prefer I use it? As a practicing Jew, I'm struggling to see how what I said bothered you.
