If there is no squall line along the front, we could see gusts easily to 50 mph in the morning - if there is a surface-based squall line then your assessment would be correct and winds would be greater. I'm beginning to wonder now, given the fact that temps should be rising into the 60's overnight. This is just what I needed as I'm trying to finish up end-of-semester work.

Time to hang onto our hats bro! I am a little surprised that there are only Severe Thunderstorm Watches in Texas Right now. But I think it is due to capping down there.

Any sign of capping up here?

Nope - there shouldn't be much of an inversion or capping up here overnight. Below is the 12Z Eta's sounding at Indianapolis for 12Z tomorrow morning - notice no inversion or cap and about 300-400 J/kg of CAPE. There will be storms around in the morning - just not sure how severe they'll be. I would not be the least bit surprised to see some gusts to 50 mph as the cold front comes through (or wherever the convection is)..then perhaps very isolated gusts of 40-50 mph behind the front as the low-level jet is mixed down with the high momentum air.

Indeed. I have spoken with Barometer Bob earlier in the evening saying that weather is breaking out. Going to get my first look at it now.

Also I am up in Teamspeak under room WARNING LIVE
