5.1 was the magnitude and at the link above there are more details.

It was felt in Puerto Rico but with minor damage.I felt it as I was in a chair looking at TV.The epicenter was at the Anegada passage.

I hope you're all OK. Earthquakes, even small ones, sound frightening to experience. We get one in New England every now and then.

I'm wondering if there in an increase in these earthquakes in the Caribbean area lately.
It seeems so to me.
Is there something going on we should be looking at?

I am not a seismologist, or a volcano expert, but I can hypothesize that the increase in earthquake activity could be becuase of two reasons. 1) The Caribbean Plate is moving faster than what it was moving before. 2) It could be because of magma movement below the surface, I don't know if one of those volcanoes in the islands are showing signs of activity.

Our local experts say that the recents earthquakes are related to local fails in the carribean plate, that are very common, and thet the great tectonic schock(like the one of 1843 of 7,5 magnitude) had to come sometime in a next future!!!.
Here, the Soufrière volcano of Guadeloupe don't show any signs of increasinc activity...
