Sheriff's Deputies fired on during border patrol
FROM STAFF REPORTS
Dec 12, 2004

Shots were fired at Yuma County Sheriff's deputies on patrol near the Mexican border Saturday, but no one was injured.

Four rounds were shot by an unknown suspect from a concealed position in Mexico, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.

Deputies did not return fire.

The incident took place about 12:45 p.m. along the intersection of County 23 Street and the Salinity Canal, near San Luis, Ariz.

Officials from the sheriff's office, which issued the release Saturday evening, were not immediately available for comment. The case remains under investigation.

But aren't all illegals just innocent, God-fearing people who only want a chance to work?
:18:

I am SO sick of hearing stories like this one and nothing is ever done. And the flood continues.... :grrr:

A significant percentage of them are engaged in smuggling activities and another significant percentage are criminals who either committed crimes in their home Country and have just shifted their actvities or are criminals who were deported from the US and have returned to the US to restart their activities. Then there are those who entered for nefarious purposes that we do not know. Granted the bulk of them are looking for work but that presents a problem of its own since they are willing to work for less than US citizens and thus deprive US citizens of jobs. It's a fallacy that Americans won't work at the jobs illegals take-the reality is that they won't work for the pittance wages that the employers want to pay for the jobs. On a side note, 4 illegals involved in the accident that killed 5 people plus an unborn baby (including 2 US Citizens) and injuring 22 (including US Citizens) here in Sierra Vista last October have been indicted by a FEDERAL Grand Jury-the driver and co-pilot of the vehicle on charges that carry the Federal Death Penalty. Hopefully this suggests that the Feds are finally taking the problem seriously. Of course the Immigration Advocates will decry this development but I say screw them.

Im with Steve, screw illegals!! We need them kicked out of OUR country immediately. They take our money and send it over the border, they dont pay taxes, they get free medical, heck I cant go to Mexico and get free medical if I was hurt. Theyd laugh at me, and when I demand it, theyd throw me in jail. NOOOOOOOOOO Why cant we do that here to them hmmmm? I say banish all AWAY FROM THIS COUNTRY! We dont need them. Sure we can use them to do work for very little pay, but other than that, no use at all. This is my take if I were to run for president.

My fellow Americans. We have to step up on border patrol, and be more harsh on illegals. Had any illegals step foot in this country, and we see them do it, they should be thrown back, before getting a beating. The reason why we still have the borders leaking with illegals is because Mr Bush did NOT step up, and be more harsh. They would know what will happen to them, and wouldnt try to get in this country anymore. It is not fair how a US resident can go to the hospital and say they need medical attention, and we get billed for it..Thats right billed..When an illegal goes in, he or she will always get free medical, and not have to pay one dime back. that is not right, and unfair to the true US Residents. My take on Illegals is, if they serve a 4 year term in the service, and go to combat at least once, and survive, they can gain US residency. Other than that, NO ILLEGALS ALLOWED! California, is not Mexifornia, with over 3million illegals, some in OUR jails. Our money this country spends on illegals is amazing when you think about it. Something has to be done, and that is what I would do if I was President.

I think the number in prison was 30 percent of the total prison population. So that 30% appears to not have come here for work.
