They retired there from Atlanta a few years ago...and my Dad said today he DOESN'T miss Atlanta weather! :D

Well Fort Huachuca (KFHU) which is Sierra Vista only reports part time so I don't know if it would be any good to have one or not.

Wow! 16 degree temperature difference between here and Palm Coast! I don't think this area will even get that low tonight. We'll have to see.

Yep...very nice community....until 3 'Canes in a row hit you and you've got 4 feet of water in your backyard (my folks STILL have standing water in their yard from the 'Canes).

They've been pumping non-stop pretty much since August, but the water table is so high that it just bubbles right back up. Came close to flooding their house, but they managed to keep the water level far enough away to keep it out of the house.

But....they LOVE IT down there, and wouldn't move back to Atlanta for anything. Even SNOW! :D

Yep.. Many places around here still under water.. I am high and dry where I am here, but Debary runs right along the ST Johns and has its flooding problems. Thankfully rain has been very thin down this way lately

They're off 17/92, and the St. Johns is about 1/4 mile down Highbanks from them. While not in the St. Johns flood plain, they discovered too late that their house had been built on a retaining pond that is an easement belonging to Volusia/Debary.

They're still working with Mr. Rosamondo (Mayor) to get it straightened out. At one point the City pumped over 120,000 gallons of water from their yard....and 3 days later it was back.
