...ACCUMULATING SNOW COULD LEAD TO BITTER COLD BY WEEKS END...
LATEST FORECAST MODEL DATA COMING IN SUNDAY EVENING CONTINUES TO
INDICATE THAT THE POTENTIAL EXISTS FOR ACCUMULATING SNOW ACROSS
PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN MISSOURI TUESDAY NIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY. IT STILL
FAR TOO EARLY TO PREDICT WITH ANY DEGREE OF CONFIDENCE HOW MUCH SNOW
MAY FALL...HOWEVER THERE DOES APPEAR TO BE AT LEAST SOME POTENTIAL
FOR SIGNIFICANT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS. IF LATER FORECAST MODELS CONTINUE
TO INDICATE THAT SIGNIFICANT SNOW IS POSSIBLE...THEN A WINTER STORM
WATCH MAY BE ISSUED FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN MISSOURI MONDAY.
IF SIGNIFICANT SNOW DOES INDEED FALL...THEN BITTER COLD TEMPERATURES
WOULD BE VERY LIKELY LATE IN THE WEEK. FRESH SNOW COVER WOULD LIKELY
CAUSE THE ARCTIC AIRMASS FORECAST TO MOVE INTO THE AREA TO BE 10 OR
MORE DEGREES COLDER THAN CURRENTLY FORECAST. IF IT BECOMES APPARENT
THAT SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL WILL OCCUR...THEN LATER FORECASTS WILL
LIKELY INCLUDE LOW TEMPERATURES BELOW ZERO FRIDAY MORNING.
PERSONS PLANNING TRAVEL ACROSS THE REGION TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY
SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND STATEMENTS ISSUED BY THE NATIONAL
WEATHER SERVICE IN SPRINGFIELD MISSOURI.
&&
STAY TUNED TO NOAA WEATHER RADIO AND OTHER LOCAL MEDIA FOR FURTHER
DETAILS OR UPDATES.

I forgot you lived in Monett!! I'm from Kansas City nad now live in Lawrence-it has been amazing to me and I must admit, made me somewhat jealous watching southern Missouri get those great snows!! It just seems for KC to get snow, (and I know this is the same for all of us here in the central US) that all variables must be alligned-if one thing gets wacky (usually warm air aloft) we get the shaft!! Good luck to you-I'll live vicariously thru you guys-maybe you could ship me some-snow aside, we will all be frigid thru Saturday!! Hopefully this year we can have one low track from the 4 corners thru Northern Arkansas and we can all get in on the fun!!
Have a good night!!

Well, I must admit, that some on here call me the tornado magnet, but some of these big winter storms seem to follow me around, too. I lived in Sedalia, MO during the winter of 2001-2002 and dealt with the major ice storm. Remember that one?
Then I move back down here and the next year we receive the 40"+ winter. Last winter was relatively calm I guess. These big storms seem to follow me. I guess it's like I said in another thread -- location, location, location!
I am rooting for you to get a big snow soon, too!!!

How is the St. Louis area looking by Thursday? We are headed down to the the STL area Thursday.
From what I have read from OAX, EAX, STL, and PAH discussions, the only thing we will have to deal with up until perhas the STL CWA is COLD, with a capital C O L D!
Then, we may be having some light snow in the STL area, but the main system should be in the central andeastern Ohio Valley by Thursday.
Thanks!
