Helen,

I am so sorry your kitty is missing.

Is there any chance he was picked up by animal services? Be sure to call them in the morning if he hasn't turned up. If you have a local SPCA or Humane Society, call them. And watch the "found" section in the classifieds for your newspapers.

Is there a neighbor who may have accidently locked him in their garage or a closet in their garage?

Keeping my fingers crossed and saying prayers for him to come safely home.

Well I used to own a cat. And trust me they are very street smart creatures.
This one particular street cat and her family of kittins has surved the PD03 storm last year plus all of the Winter/COLD events from 2000 since I first notice the cat until these days.

Your cat should be fine!

GOOD LUCK on your Search!

I know in my case my cat always come back sometimes it was a day sometimes it was a week-month.

I know I was not that concern about my cat since it was pretty street smart from the get go.

I'm sorry to hear that Helen. I give you my prayers that Blackie comes back home. I remember when he last disappeared and came back. I believe Blackie is strong enough and with our prayers he will find his way back home.

Helen I hope that Blackie is found soon safe and sound with you. I'll keep my faith there for you that he is found and doing well as Christmas nears. I can definitely tell what you want prior to Christmas and hopefully our prayers for you will help.

Terry's advice is good. I would definately call in the morning. It's a good thing you do have a tag on Blackie.

At least this is not the first time Blackie has done this so at least he has some experience being outside in the elements. You didn't do anything wrong Helen. I know my cat Mac would take off in a heart beat as well. You just can't let Blackie out anymore.

Got you all in my prayers!

Definitely make the call in the morning. Cats often slip their collars. You might also call the local police, sometimes people call the police when they dont know who else to call. Call the local shelters, not just the main one, but the smaller ones too, that way if someone brings him in they will already know you are looking. You said you dont really know how he got out, are you sure he is out and not closed somewhere inside?? Ours slip into the storage areas in the knee walls whenever the opportunity presents itself, and they have found a way into the basement ceiling if the door to the water meter is left open. If it gets closed with out making sure they are both out they have been stuck up there. Good luck.

Helen, I really hope that you and blackie are re-united soon. As a pet owner, I know the anguish when your companion has gone missing. Cats are so darn independent. Was he de-clawed?
