I have been finished. lol. Although I must admit, I had to get some last minute gifts over the weekend.

NO! I was doing fine until hubby said in early December - hey let's have a party on the 18th. And so we did. I hurried and got our cards out, some had invites, I began the mad furry of major cleaning for a party - have a dog, so this house gets pretty grungy. And two teenagers, who just don't understand why I want a clean house for company...so my gift buying was put off. I was about 80% done before the party and full intended upon finishing it all up Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday of this week. Then this major snowstorm that's predicted to hit at midnight, really changed my plans! Here I was having my tires rotated this morning, running more errands at Target, buying groceries for at least a week (and so was everyone else in my community). Traffic jams in nearly every grocery aisle!

Add all of that together and I just do not feel ready. My youngest has a list for me to get at Target tonight...I think I should just take a cot and live up there this week...he he.

I usually take notes for each year - what to do differently next year to make things go more smoothly. I've done this for years. I just didn't expect to host a party! Oh well, got thru that one and I'll manage the rest. It all works out, somehow!

Was "on track" until last Friday...

Well, I was almost ready last Friday.

Then I got a call from a recruiter. (I've been looking for a job for quite a while). "Can you work on a rush job next week--over Christmas?"

Well, yes... but the job is not "local" so I spent the weekend getting ready to leave instead of doing the last-minute shopping...

Thank God for Storm2K--I'm sitting in a hotel room "talking to my friends" here on the board instead of just sitting here...

Maybe next year I'll get it together....
