Latest ETA gives Central Plains some hope!!!

#1 Postby sertorius » Tue Dec 21, 2004 7:51 am

The latest ETA gives my area at least a chance of some snow Thursday night into Friday morning-will it hold??? Who knows, but at least it is some hope. There will be several s/w rotating thru this area with the arctic air intrusion and it seems the last one may give us some snow. That would give us a white x-mass :D All of this is short lived however with temps on Sunday in the 50's. Next week looks interesting if you follow the GFS and MRF-Euro (which I tend to believe) has us in the 50's all week next week. At least one model is throwing me a bone for some snow before Saturday!! Good luck to everyone South and East of me-I'll be pulling for you with the snow.

The good news is that the ETA still has a small snow band thru this area Thursday-that is the third run-no other model agreement as of yet. And of course, the GFS is already back tracking from it's cold solution for next week. Makes sense with the arctic plunge heading west. Much colder today-

Just like in the usuall suspects: and Poof it was gone!! Fun while it lasted. Back to the storm in the Ohio Valley!! We do have some virga over us currently from the frontal passage-can't even squeeze out drizzle from a strong cold front passage!! Good luck to you all East and South of here.

wx247:

Yea, I have clouds!! :D That was darned funny!!! Even still virga around-short loop radar composite shows quite a bit-maybe, if the column would saturate and the low would just wrap up a bit, it could throw enough up here to surprise me!! Like I've said before, we've gotten good snows in the past with an arctic frontal passage and a low down in Arkansas. Not that will happen this time but, sat. images do show some enhancement trying to move North from New Mexico-or, I'm making myself see it!! Good luck to you wx247-I'm watching the NWS discussions from St. Louis, Springfield, and Paud. Kentucky.
