Our pollen count today was 1202! You could literally see the yellow clouds blowing across the road. :o

I'm not sure how the scale goes, but "Extremely High" is relatively low compared to 1200+/-.!! :?

I can't take ibuprofen (Advil). The two times I did I broke out in hives. Sudafed works well for me.

Just a little tidbit. Did you know all that yellow stuff you see on the cars and roads making little "pollen devils" are really only pine pollens, which are not the ones causing the allergies. The ones causing the allergies are the hard to see (microscopic) oak, maple, elm, and hickory pollens! Surprising but tru.

Exactly, JQ...very good post and information there ... the stuff that's on the cars aren't what get us!

BTW, I have been taking non-prescription Claritin and it has worked pretty nicely for me ... (I've also used a lot of Saline Spray as well to help break up the stuffed up nose) ... I'm getting there!

I take Comtrex b/c that is the ONLY stuff that will work! (Besides Bromfed, but I need a Rx for that one) Yup...my allergies are being a pain in the royal arse right now. Ever since Monday's Maple count of 1262, my allergies have been turned up to HIGH! I usually can handle them by taking one comtrex a day, but lately it's been meds after meds after meds...I feel like I am a walking pharmacy!

Shannon, I know the feeling ... so far, *crosses fingers*, this one got me bad for only a couple of days but eased up enough to at least to allow me to make it through ... Sinus infections royally suck and so does this pollen!

my allergies turned into a COLD! which in turn caused me to lose my voice, hack like there is no tomorrow and to stick a kleenex up my nose! Needless to say, I can't catch my nose...it just keeps running and running and running!
