Where is the Gulf Low....

#1 Postby CYCLONE MIKE » Wed Dec 22, 2004 5:17 pm

Can anyone professional or not help me out with the possible areas the low could form? Also what are the possible tracks it could take? Could it just shirt the north gulf coast or be so far south nobody gets anything? I would like anyone's opinions on this daring task. Thanks.

It's going to develop somewhere in the Southwestern Gulf... the two scenarios are:

The Coastal areas get *MAYBE* enough snow to accumulate or nobody gets anything. Could go either way...

To me, the if and where the system develops is the biggest question. A few miles north or south would make a real big difference.

It looks like the STJ is roaring ENE across Mexico. It also appears that a shortwave over California is rotating around the trough. So it seems that these will come together to initiate low pressure somewhere in the gulf. With all of the dynamics involved that need to come together, it will all depend upon the actual timing as to when, where, and/or if the low develops and its actual path.
