D/FW Area Rarity : Blowing Snow

Usually when it snows here, we get that wet slushy stuff. Today, we started out with wet slushy snow and it gradually became more powder in composition. Looking out my business's window over the prairie here at Westlake, you can see the snow getting kicked up by the strong north winds, much like sand. Pretty unusual site here. The powder even swirls a bit.

We have not had a lot of accumulation, but today has still been exciting and a great start for Winter 2004. I am hoping for more snow events before the spring!

Mr Houma is on his way there we own an 18 wheeler and he goes there twice a week I told him to get his eyes full for me

I can testify. It was much easier to make snowballs with the early snow. The later snow was harder to compact. Not that we're complaining about 1.5 inches of snow on the ground.
