Blizzard conditions for South Padre Island TX.

#1 Postby Guest » Thu Dec 23, 2004 9:57 am

HaHa,

Thats what it sounds like,

Brownsville
Friday: Rain, snow and sleet likely before noon, then a chance of snow and sleet. Cloudy, with a high around 36. Windy, with a north northwest wind between 28 and 30 mph, with gusts as high as 44 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

I take it that this is going to be a coastal event only?

think we could get some snow drifts on the dunes

Those forecast conditions don't actually meet the criteria for a blizzard.

There were not Blizzard Warnings here in 1993 when the Blizzard of 1993 hit. Visibilities down to near zero and winds up to 50 mph, so that's defintely not a Blizzard, just a miserable day.

Corpus Christi under winter weather advisory - wow ! I lived there and spent some time in Padre Island in summer 2002. Very nice place. Any mention of snow in that area of SE Texas is certainly very rare ! Enjoy and Merry Christmas
