Snow Falling in SE TX
Radar and obs along with excited public reports indicate snow is making it to the ground over sections of SE TX. Polk County is seeing the greatest covereage, however radar indicates increasing bands over Fort Bend and Wharton coutnies heading for metro Houston.
Temps are at or below freezing over the entire area, however the snow is light and should not accumulate.

snow being reported in Sugarland, Rosenberg, and Sealy at this time. As well as at the NWS office, Baytown, and Webster. Just got a call from along the south loop also.
Radar shows a decent area of lgiht snow to fluries moving in from the SW. Even though the low level are very dry some of this is making it to the ground in the form of flurries.
No accumulation is expected today, however greater lift this evening may produce some accumulation along and south of I-10.

Snow band to the SW may produce some accumulation as it crosses Harris County given the high reflectivity.
Upper lift from the low can be seen moving into SW TX south of SA were new bands are developing.
Expect additional development of snow through the afternoon with some chance for accumulation along and south of I-10 as the storng lift moves over the area late this afternoon and early evening.

Very impressive plume of winter precip now stretching all the way to the Mexican border from Houston. Could be a training effect coming into play here if this continues and it really begins making it to the ground. Actual small accumulations may beging to occur in our are and to our SW later today. Personal obs show that the overcast is thickening and there are flurries occurring. Warm ground will keep much accumulation from showing at least till later tonight if there is accumulating snow.

Here south of Lafayette the ground is cold enough for snow/sleet to accumulate however we haven't gotten any yet. Will we get some?
Can't give you a definite on that, but it is what I would call a probability as opposed to a possibility.

Just got a very excited report from my son who is around Bellaire and Wilcrest in SW Houston. Snow is coming down hard enough to accumulate on cars and other surfaces.
I can confirm that now. We are getting heavy sleet and snow mix at Westheimer and Gessner with accumulation on surfaces!!!! Could be a very interesting 24-36 hours!!!
