White Christmas for....... HOUSTON?!

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HOUSTON/GALVESTON TX
753 PM CST FRI DEC 24 2004

.DISCUSSION...
HAVE DECIDED TO RE-ISSUE/UPDATE THE WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SE
TX TO INCLUDE LOCATIONS JUST NORTH OF THE PREVIOUS ADVISORY. BASED
ON RADAR TRENDS...BELIEVE THAT WE HAVE/COULD SEE SNOW ACCUMULATING
OVERNIGHT FOR THESE AREAS AS WELL. THERE IS ALSO SEEING ADDITIONAL PCPN
DEVELOPMENT TO OUR SSW ATTM (AS THE UPPER LOW CONTINUES TO EJECT S/WS
ACROSS THE REGION).
LOOKING OVER THE RECORDS..THERE IS A VERY REAL AND DISTINCT POSSIBILITY
THAT WE (MAINLY FOR IAH AND GLS) COULD SEE OUR VERY FIRST WHITE CHRISTMAS
(THAT IS SINCE WX RECORDS HAVE BEEN KEPT). NOT PLANNING ON MAKING TOO MANY
OTHER CHANGES FOR
THIS EVENING SO WILL KEEP THE REMAINDER OF THE FORECAST PKG PRETTY MUCH AS IS. 41/46

If there's snow on the ground at Midnight it counts and I think there will be(even if it's gone by mid-morning).

It is not just snowing in Southern Brazoria county anymore, it is now in "blizzard" mode.

What is crazy is it seems to still be developing in Mexico and training towards the upper Texas coast!!

I wonder if there are any posters near Victoria. It seems like they've been getting a steady moderate snow for 3 or 4 hours now. I place my bet on Victoria for taking the snow trophy.

It's after 10pm there, they should be in bed this Christmas Eve. :D

Aren't they worried Santa might show up in the middle of their snowball fights? ;)

LOL.....I think that most of them have already forgot about their presents..

For Texan kids that have never seen snow and to come at this almost perfect time is a present that they all can enjoy.. We were about to open up our "one xmas eve present" and our youngest tore out of here to his friends house when the snow started to stick...Good stuff....:)

Yep. The BEST stuff. We don't see much snow here in Atlanta either, so I understand. There's not enough money in the world to pay for watching your kids freak out on Christmas Eve over a snowstorm.

I can imagine mine would be outside right now if it were coming down. As it is, we opened our "one" present before we went to Mass, then they came home and pretty much went to bed an hour after we got home at 9pm. :D

You guys enjoy....

Jeny

BTW...the rest of our family is up in CLL right now. They say they haven't seen a flurry. Nary a one (which would have been FIRSTS for my 4 and 6 year old nephews). :(

And I believe the New Orleans area got some as well?

It is truly amazing to see this happen. My Sister-In-Law used to live in Rosharon In Brazoria County.

Even BROWNSVILLE is getting this!! I can't recall this happening down there EVER. And coming out of Mexico?!?!?!? Get outta here! But it is SO true!

Some areas could see half a FOOT down there!!

Take Pictures, video, Whatever it takes!

Would be really cool to see snow falling on Schlitterbaun Water Park down there Or Six Flags Fiesta Texas!@!

Small world Michael...I live in Angleton about 15min south of Rosharon..I'll get some picks up soon as it is still coming down fairly hard. I would venture to say we have picked up a good inch if not more in the last hour..

I'm in the New Orleans area and still waiting for it. We've gotten mixed precip, rain, sleet, some flurries. But nothing like what's going on in Texas.
