Let's be real honest about this.
I thought you were stark raving MAD. I thought, wth, is wxguy25 doing, getting all these people all super excited over something that would probably NEVER EVER realistically happen in their entire lifetimes?

I check on about 100 messageboard a day because I am so clinically obsessed with web-based messageboards, and I was just passing through Storm2K shall we say, and I saw that thread

http://www.storm2k.org/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=54307

and I could not believe what I was reading!

The MODELS were way off, but wxguy25 was right on the money!
You gotta know when its gonna snow in Texas (or the Mid Atlantic, for that matter).........Who ya gonna call?

Wxguy25's Da Man!!!!!!!!!! Bring on your BAAD forecasts!!!

Hey, if you ever see the potential for a 36 inch snow in NE Virginia, please, don't hesitate to start a thread like,

HEY JEB, YOU BETTER GET READY FOR THE 36-INCH SNOW JEBWALK OF YOUR LIFE!!!

or something to that effect. 'Cuz I WILL jump IMMEDIATELY on the WXGUY25 TRAIN and it will be one heck of a RIDE!!!!

(if I don't break my back from shoveling all that snow LOL!)

-Jeb!!!!!!!!! BRING IT!!! BRING IT!!!!

Well I might have been one of the first to see it coming, and i appreciate the enthusiasm but this is actually a BUST for me. I never forecasted anything over 2" in the regions which tonight are getting 6-12"

You're honest. That's very, very cool! :)

Hey, you predicted snow for south Texas, and SNOW was what they got!! :)

You nailed it!! You didn't bust, if you did, you "busted" in such a very cool way!!!!!!! :)

Hey wxguy, you predicted 2 inches then they got 12. So predict 6 inches for me then I'll get 36.

What a wonderful forecast for South Texas. :)

Merry Christmas wxguy25, and Merry Christmas to South Texas and everyone else. :)

Boy is Texas gonna be digging out tomorrow.......

WOW 10 INCHES OF SNOW!!! MAYBE EVEN 12!!!!!

Dang it I'm so darn JEALOUS!!!!!!!

-Jeb

Jeb,

You're SUCH a snow-dweeb! (in a sweet, nice, lovable kind of way).

If you EVER get that 36 in Jeb-Walk, I only hope I'll be able to join you in a (much lesser) Jen-Walk down here from Atlanta! :cheesy:

MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Yes, these are the kind of busts you want to have (if there is a such thing as wanting to bust)...the march 2001s i could deal without those. lol

Totally agree. You always want to UNDERestimate snow amounts, rather than OVERestimate them. Well, maybe not always... but still it is better.

I have NO problem w/ forecasting any amount of snow anywhere at any time if that’s what im presented with based on the data.

Now this is OBVIOUSLY hypothetical, but if the data suggested 20” in JAX w/ 1/4 inch of ice in Orlando you had better believe that I would be the first person to forecast it. I don’t lowball – I call it as I see it.

At the time when I posted that map the data was suggesting mainly a mix over SE TX changing to snow. I saw at that point the potential for up to 2” of slop, so I ran w/ that.

Yeah I know.. I've had crow before, this isn't the first time. I busted badly with Charley saying it would be a strong 2 or Low-End 3 at landfall. Oops.

Did ANYONE actually predict more than an inch of snow before there was more than an inch on the ground?

I've been saving radars and stuff since I'll never see it again in my lifetime.

Predicting snow and then it not happening is the worst.

I was saying 2-4 before there was anything on the ground. 2 Days ago I was going for 1-2 inches....and I actually thought the upper low moving through was what would do the trick.

Taking lots of pics here today because the last time this happened here was 1960...and my mom was in 3rd grade.

Looks like you were the closest of anyone.

1960? Was there nearly a foot on the ground in spots then?

Oh it was great alright back in March 2001. Try explaining to the entire school why there wasn't two feet of snow and no school for a week...

I ate crow for a month...

Don't remind me... *sigh*

I used to do the weather at my elementary school every morning. Ouch... when it didn't snow and I said it would, it hurt. See, here, we don't see each other in person everyday, but we did there.

As long as it's not French crow. :)
