coastal NC snow

#1 Postby air360 » Sat Dec 25, 2004 12:53 pm

I just feel the need to vent on how frustrating it is to live near the beach in NC sometimes. Looking at advisories and such it is saying possible winter weather over inland counties but us near the beach will get only cold cold boring rain...blah! ok...i think i feel a little better now...Merry Christmas

But you have the BEACH. We land-locked "innies" don't. In the summer, I'd trade places with you anytime! :D

OK so freaking New Orleans and Houston get freaking snow and coastal, NC can't get snow? I mean I believe we a quite a bit farther north than they are. What the hell is going on here?

Have you ever skied/boarded in Australia? You should see the Aussies jones for snow during their winter/ski season. They make US southern Americans look like rank amateurs in the snow-jonesing department! ;)

My particular favorite Aussie snow spot is Falls Creek (never been there, want to go "some day"). :D

This summer, you might want to check out this site http://www.ski.com.au

That's a major site for Aussie Skiers/boarders and they're a hoot to hang out with (when you're sitting around in shorts/tanks, 95 degrees outside and 100% humidity). The Aussies take their snow SERIOUS!

That site is year round, has snow-cams and is really hopping during our summer/their winter. Excellent met discussions there too!
