Any mets here have a reason why the snow is evading the metro area of Houston?

I am in the same boat Nromandy. 2 minutes of snow today at my house near BUSH and south of Spring.

I think the dry air is winning out just north of I-10. Lift and meso-scale bands to the south are really cranking out the totals.

I wnat it soo bad, but it just wont move more north. Just checked the H2O and the upper low may head a tad ENE which could shift the band back northward as noted on the HOU NEXRAD.

However this may be my wishful thinking than what actually happens.

Somebody send me a snow ball please.

Sending you some 26 degree cold SNOW VIBES from Atlanta GA. Hoping it wil nudge up just a bit so that the north side of Houston (all the way up to College Station) will get into the action.

IF that were to happen, my nephews Conner (6) and Pete (4) would see snow for the first time in their lives.

Hoping, hoping, hoping!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Let me see if I can get those pics a bit smaller..

That was Angleton Tx about 2hrs ago.Only 45mi south of Houston..And have had about 2/3 more inches since then...And still coming down at a good clip...I would say we are at about 5/7 inches at 1230 pm cst....

Houston- We have a White Christmas.

My husband and I took a full rolll of pictures around 10 this evening- it continued to fall until 11pm-ish and tapered off. No snow at the moment, but the radar says we're in for more soon. There's snow on the ground- over the rooftops, on the carports.... Probably half an inch or more on the hood of my husbands car at 10pm.

It's 2:50am and I'm calling it a white christmas- no matter how it looks at 9am when I wake up.

-Metro Houston, Southwest corner inside the 610 loop- Bellaire area.

I'm starting to get worried about the drive out to my parents house in Katy tomorrow morning- I've never driven on snow or even ice. We'll be taking it VERY very slow

YAY!!

I'm never gonna get caught up until I get home (even then, I'm not sure how I'll get a chance). Just had to post because my best friend called me today and told me that it snowed for over 3 hours and they had at least 4 inches of snow in Galveston!!

Check http://www.galveston.com and click "Webcams" and look at the pics of Stewart Beach and The Commodore! I just printed one pic and saved a few of them. I'm not sure it will still be there when I get back. But I love that I got to tell coworkers last Wednesday, "Don't be surprised if you have a white Christmas!"

Gonna love hearing about it when I go back on Monday.

Well, time for the turkey in just a bit. I'll be driving back early in the morning (leaving Lexington around 5 AM). Take care, everybuddy, and have a Merry Wonderful Blessed Christmas!

It is truly amazing to see this happen. My Sister-In-Law used to live in Rosharon In Brazoria County.

Even BROWNSVILLE is getting this!! I can't recall this happening down there EVER. And coming out of Mexico?!?!?!? Get outta here! But it is SO true!

Some areas could see half a FOOT down there!!

Take Pictures, video, Whatever it takes!

Would be really cool to see snow falling on Schlitterbaun Water Park down there Or Six Flags Fiesta Texas!@!

I'm in the New Orleans area and still waiting for it. We've gotten mixed precip, rain, sleet, some flurries. But nothing like what's going on in Texas.

So did you end up finally getting some accumulating snow? Still have about 17 inches on the ground here (I Think the sunshine has melted about 1 inch )

While I am not a met, it could be the shear heat of The City Of Houston Removing a bit of the temperature inversion. Sometimes that Heat Island effect can cause heavier snows south and east of a major city
