Hi Garrett,
Too far south to get KC stations, eh? I will keep you all posted. I am off this week so will be following the weather closely as I return to work on Monday. It's been really nice here for the last day or so.

Sometimes when the weather is just right I can pick up channel 9, but usually not. Katie is the real deal -- the right combo -- brains and excellent delivery. That is a rarity in the tv weather world. Thanks for keeping me posted... it should be interesting!!!

Although I live in lawrence, I still teach at Notre Dame de Sion at 106th and Wornall-I also went to KU-why I moved back to Lawrence :D -lived in KC my whole life. Next week is getting really interesting if you ask me-The GFS is really showing something-the EURO is not-they could no be further from each other for Tuesday-if the 18z GFS were to verify, our area would have everything then have two more chance next week-but the EURO hold it all back and never gets really cold-if you're going to bet, take the EURO-if you're bord with our weather like I am, take the GFS. Problem: the GFS will be totally different tomm. and break your heart!!! The MRF would have us all in snow as it surges the arctic front further south-but that was the 0z run and it will be more in line with the GFS tomorrow. Who really knows-at least we have some ducks circling the pond. Why don't you care for Mike Thompson????

As far as Mike Thompson is concerned... he is pretty good long term, but he sticks to his guns a little too much and plays things for consistency sometimes rather than what he is feeling.

Gary is great at delivery, but he is a little overdramatic in his swings in temps and precip.

My least favorite in KC is Don Harmon... ugh!

wx247:

Mike Thompson really got burned when he first came to KC-forcasted several big storms that always went south-he is gun shy about forcasting big events-of course for here for the past several years he has been correct!!!! Dan Harmon would no more believe it was going to snow than a man on the moon!! he down plays every single event and has been burned himself accept in the opposite direction. Prob. the most underated one is Joe Lauria on Fox also-he is very good. gary does go nuts-I guess that is why I like him-he is the only met that really wants a snow storm and doesn't say well we must be living right-we missed another one!! Brian Busby is good, but his is bit condensending for me. Anyways, heres to an interesting week next week-I hope the colder air can seep this far south-it is going to be close-but hey-I'll finally have some clouds!!!!!

I've seen Mike miss too many times on his forecasts especially this past year.

I know where that is... Probably a 10 to 15-minute drive from here.
