Sittin' Around The Pot Belly Stove

#1 Postby azsnowman » Thu Feb 06, 2003 10:23 am

Well folks, here we are, back by popular demand, The Pot Belly Stove

A brief history of the PBS....I started this thread on another board shortly after the events of Sept 11th. This thread came to be one of the most popular threads ever started at TWC. I use to keep track of how many replies it got at one time, I've lost track over the year and a half it's been burning, I know it's somewhere in the 8000-9000 mark. There has been so many close friendships started at the PBS, some of us have even met in person.

So, here we go, pull up a chair, have a seat, put up your feet and enjoy the glow of true wxbuddie friendship. This is a place to share your days events, your troubles, your worries and yes, even talk about the weather!

Hey thanks Azsnowman. I never participated in the PBS over on that site, but I think I will here. Thanks for starting the thread and I look forward to getting to know everyone a little better.

I'M HOME!!!!

#9 Postby Stephanie » Thu Feb 06, 2003 12:25 pm

Boy, do I need that Earl Grey tea to relax. I hope the others will find there way here shortly.

It hasn't started snowing yet, but it's knocking on the MD/PA border already (at least a band or two of the white stuff). The new ETA model looks like it strengthens it a bit more so the 3 - 6 inches may be adjusted. We'll see!

I'm glad to meet our new moderators ( some not so new  ) and see new faces by the stove. Thanks for having us!

Hi ChadTm80, thanks for the welcome.

Hey Stephanie, how about if I brew a nice pot of Earl Grey tea for ya. Maybe Raine and Miss Mary will wonder in out of the cold. I know streetsoldier is here and likes that Earl Grey when he's not drinking his Gevalia.

I'll throw a log on the fire and sit in the rocker for awhile.

How nice to see some familiar faces and some new ones.

Chad, I see you live in Deltona. I just moved 2 months ago from Ormond Beach. Still have my Volusia County beach sticker on the car. Yeah I miss being able to go take the dog for a walk without mummifying myself. Man, it is windy here in the midwest!! But I don't miss the traffic there with the 500, then bike week, spring break, etc. Are you going to any of the events?

rainband, woohoo Bucs! I lived in Tampa too. (man, I've moved around too much). I was there from 77-85. I still am pinching myself since the Superest of all Bowls, and I don't think my brother has regained his voice yet. It's great to be able to watch them play and not have to reach for the Rolaids afterwards.

Dennis, Are you having your foot surgery today? Prayers up and going for a speedy recovery and that it accomplishes its goals.

Happy Thursday to everyone! :D

Cool isobar. welcome aboard. Ive lived in Deltona since i was 4 years old. Love it around here. To dam hot in the summer but that gives me something to come on here and gripe about. :D This place has trippled in residencies since i have been here. It is the most populated city in Volusia now. Beat out Daytona. not bad... I remember how excited i was way back when, when they added the city of Deltona to the weather maps on our local TV stations. LOL

Chad...could you ship some heat up this way? Actually...it is like a postcard outside. The snow is falling down, and I am inside by my grandma's fireplace sipping on a cappucino.

Isobar, nope...the surgery is tomorrow a.m. in Flagstaff at 0900, I have to be at the surgery center at 0715 so that means I have to leave here by 0430 A.M.!! :o Needless to say, I'm hitting the hay EARLY tonight. Nothing to eat after 2000, nuthing to drink after midnight  AH WELL, at least the foot will be done with!

Not much else going on. "KARAN" now THAT wasn't nice :P you know what they say, right? LOL! I'll be back one more time afore tonight, got a few more things to do.
