A dangerous situation shaping up across the northern plains

#1 Postby wx247 » Fri Dec 31, 2004 5:04 pm

Within the next 24 hours, the weather is going to go downhill very rapidly across portions of the Dakotas, Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa, and into northern Illinois as well as Wisconsin.

Numerous winter weather advisories, watches, and warnings have been posted for snow across the north to potential significant ice accumulations across the south. This should be an interesting event to watch unfold.

Yes, a new winter storm watch has been issued for my area. Up to 1/4 of an inch of ice is possible. Along with that, up to two inches of snow may be possible on top of that ice. Very dangerous situation may be possible across much of the plains.
