Extremely bad weather in Eastern Ontario...

#1 Postby jj_frap » Sun Jan 02, 2005 1:48 pm

I live between Ottawa and Montreal, it's about 15 out here, and we're getting heavy freezing raing...The warm front's moving in much slower than expected it seems, which is not a very good thing at all...

It's not even 10 in Ottawa and they're getting freezing rain, so it's unusually cold for this sort of weather.

I didn't even know the freezing rain could happen when it was that cold, but your statement about the warm front tells the story. It is very shallow cold air you are under right now I presume, thus the freezing rain. Other mets feel free to correct me if my assumption is wrong.

I've seen freezing rain at about 5 before.

The forecast is looking very grim...

Precipitation is currently stretching from Northeastern Quebec to just North-East Windsor and it's not going to get any warmer than 25 or 30 if it even hits that (And I'll be surprised to see even 20 in Ottawa or Montreal given what conditions are currently like there).

I expect ice well into the night, and the forecast agrees with me this time, unlike with the boxing day snow, blowing snow, and severe cold that bonked us with 3 or 4 inches.
