OK! Where did the WINTER go???
What is up with this wacky weather? It snowed on Christmas eve, now its in the 70's out.... I would really like my winter back! Does anyone know if or when something maybe cold will chill us out again?

Here in Baton Rouge, I recall watching WGN and Tom Skilling many times back in the winter of 1987- 1988 wearing my flip flops and shorts, while Chicago and the north was in the deep freeze. Yet here it snowed twice in 3 days that February. It's not that unusual to have warm weather like this down south during the winter. That will make the maples, magnolias, and azaleas begin to bloom soon. But like usual they will have to endure through some freezes and frosts.

This explains why we're so warm:

Basically, because the west is so cool and there's a strong trough there.
Like you I want my winter back (or at least cooler temps) I had my AC on today!

Eric
I thought a 25-77 difference today was a TAD extreme.

I think winter will come back hard when it decides to. Remeber how warm November/early Deceber was around here and then the arctic fronts starting coming. Can't remember the last time we stayed below freezing for almost three days but it happened over Christmas! Mother nature always balances herself out, or at least thats the way it seems to happen
