Warm springlike weather in Louisiana... ughh

#1 Postby HollynLA » Wed Jan 05, 2005 6:22 am

it was only 10 days ago that we had snow flurries and since then it's been so darn humid and warm. What gives? The forecast shows temps in the 70's everyday for atleast the next 10 days too. This is rather unusual even for LA. Any ideas as to when we could get anything that remotely feels like January?

I know what you mean. The forecast Saturday in Tampa is for 80 high. This is so depressing. A friend of mine came over last night in a T-shirt and shorts. The humidity hasn't been too oppressive which is the only saving grace.

Well, humidity is up here and it is very warm. The air conditioners are humming. Someone close the door to the oven please! That refrigerator door seems to be jammed shut.

I kind of like this weather, perfect for winter break. Feels like summer :D. I just hope it cools down some when school starts.

By next Monday, we will be on here anticipating the ifs, ands or buts of the next cold arctic outbreak that may occur at the end of next week. Winter is not over yet.

No thank you - I love the south and have lived here all of my life. Just wanted it to be a bit cooler that's all. Didn't care to be told off and where to go. No offense to anyone living in a cold climate, I love it here in the south. Found it unusual for it to be this warm that's all. Sorry, but I would never tell someone to go somewhere else if they didn't like it.

LaBreeze, I do not believe MGC was trying to be rude. She was being comical.

You are right though MGC, when I go to Atlanta in the winter I am ready to get back home to MS to warm back up. I would never survive winter up North.

I was in no way being rude. Sorry if you took it that way. I'm the same way with all my friends who like it cool. I tell them to move up north. I like it HOT!......MGC

the weather mets here in S Fl took a month off and are just playing the same tape over and over again. Mostly sunny highs near 80 lows in the upper 60's. Winds E 15 to 20 mph. Everbody has memorized this forecast.

I like it warm too. The only time I hope for the cold is when the possibility of snow is in our forecast. Otherwise, I hate winter and rather be on the beach and swimming. I do not tolerate the cold well at all. When it was snowing here for Christmas day, I could only stand to be outside in it for about 5 minutes at a time. I don't think I would like living up north. I been here all my life and I am spoiled. I went to Branson, Misssouri this summer at the end of July. And a rather unusual cold front came through and it dropped to the 50's. For the end of July, even being up in the Ozarks, I thought it was weird. I only packed T-shirts, sleeveless shirts, shorts, and a few denim skirts, so I was miserable. It was also overcast and raining most of the trip. I am making plans to go to Destin, Florida the first of August this year.
