Steven Spielberg's "The War of the Worlds"

#1 Postby alicia-w » Thu Jan 06, 2005 10:07 am

Steven Spielberg's "The War of the Worlds" (Paramount/DreamWorks) (June 29)

By the time Tom Cruise declares "War," "Star Wars" will have had nearly six weeks of playing time and moviegoers will be ready for another slice of prime sci-fi. In this case, the source material is H.G. Wells' classic novel about Martians invading the Earth, prompting an intergalactic war that could wipe out the human race.

Before reading this, I had not heard one single thing about this movie. Has anyone else?

I think a sometime in the not too distant past I heard something about a remake, but never had any idea it would have a heavyweight like Tom Cruise starring in it. The original is a classic!!! I'm not sure how many times Ihave watched it! I hope the new one is awesome. Could be incredible with Speilberg as director and the current level of technology for special effects.

can't wait to see this....the original was material for many a nightmare, back in the day when the special effects were considered incredible.
