It was obvious to me here in Arizona that someone would be getting a major significant precipitation event to the east and north of here over the next couple of days.
My old snow-stomping grounds near Rockford Illinois is expecting 6" plus of snow over the next 36 hours....so those of you in the area, please post your reports so I can get a feel for the good old winter storms I used to enjoy back there.

Currently in the Omaha/Council Bluffs area, about 1 - 2 inches of snow is on the ground. We are expecting between 12 - 18 inches, depending who you listen to.
Further south, across Missouri, significant icing is forecast. This includes the Kansas City area. Currently, that area has flooding.
Winter Storm Warnings extend from eastern Wyoming into western Michigan.

I haven't posted on here in forever..life just got tons busy when school started again..but thought all you would like an update from Chi town. They are now predicting 8 to 12 inches for us.. We shall see if that pans out. I'll try really hard to remember to give all you winter weather buffs an update or two but can't promise! Stay warm and don't let the snow bugs bite! *huggers*

Thanks for the updates. I'll be checking periodically to see how things are going back there.
With a temp of 20 degrees and a 15 mph wind in Rockford, I'd say the heavier snows will be late today into tonight as the center of the low gets closer and the air warms into the uppe 20's or low 30's. This is one time I would enjoy being back for a couple days if I didn't have to travel to get there!!!
