when we lived in seattle, we used to take our boat up through the Straits of Juan de Fuca to Victora and saw them a lot! Fortunately the boat was a 65 footer and we didnt have to worry about getting flipped over.
They are so cool and really big. Hard to believe they're actually from the dolphin family and not whales at all...

My fathers cousing lived on the straits on Anacortes Island. We watched the whales from the backyard!! Incredible!! And beautiful!!! My dad was born in Anacortes.
I would have had to change more than one wet suit after that!!!
