Winter Storm Herbert Radar, Satellite, and obsrvation Thread

#1 Postby Tornado_Chaser2005 » Fri Jan 07, 2005 7:43 am

To start off the thread, We are getting light rains right now....Cells are developing everywhere, and its starting to get a bit humid outside. This doesnt feel like the normal storms we get here. I would like to show an image of a cell off the coast of Los Angeles, which is nearly 40miles to my west.
As you can see, this cell reminded me of the day after tomorrow hook near LA, so I decided to share it! Hmm more I think about it, the more this cell looks like Shrimp Scampi.

The national radar makes it look like California is getting washed away and/or snowed under!!!

Looks like rotation or maybe a hook echo.

Coming down pretty good here right now in Costa Mesa with some good southeasterly winds at the moment. Winds gusting to near 30 MPH easily right now. I have at least 1/3" of rain at the moment.

I just took a walk outside to see if there is any damage occuring from the wind and I see a few roofing shingles blown off of one of the buildings and a couple of twigs blown off of the trees. That's about it so far.
