I see no end in sight to these warm January temps. To have a period lasting this long of spring-like weather is strange even for southeast Louisiana. It has been in the mid 70's here ever since a few days after Christmas. Almost 2 weeks ago we had over an inch of snow on the ground. We have been wearing T-shirts and shorts almost every day now for about a week and a half. But, I am in no way complaining. I am actually enjoying this warm weather. I really can't tolerate the cold well at all.
The weather channel is still showing temps in the upper 70's to even low 80's here all week. I see at the end of next week, we have a mild cold front that will put our temps back down to the 50's. But, I don't see any artic outbreak coming down any time soon. The only time I want it to get cold is if we could have another shot at seeing snow here. I got spoiled after seeing the beautiful snow fall down Christmas Day. I hope I don't have to wait another 15 years to see it here.

It's coming late next week and it will be with you for awhile once it arrives.

No thank you. I wasn't complaining about our warm weather. I was born here and lived here all my life, so I am used to it. But, I would not mind seeing another round of snow before the winter is over. I like visiting other states up north, but would not want to relocate there. I would get sick of seeing the snow week after week. If I would relocate anywhere, it would be Florida. I am more of a beach person. I would just have to put up with the hurricane threats and high cost of living.

Hey cajungal! Bonne année Merveilleus por tous!
No end in sight? Stand on your tippytoes (figuratively speaking) and look over the next week to around the 15th-17th....S-NAP!! At least that's what the a couple of the models seem to be indicating, although the duration and severity of the cold, along with precip potential (if any) are impossible to determine with any certainty at this point.
So enjoy these 70's being pulled up from the Gulf for 4 or 5 more days, but don't put the sweaters back in the boxes yet. I don't like the cold much either, and I'm really liking walking around in shorts and sandals in January, too!

I don't even own an actual sweater. I am not a sweater person at all. I own some light-weight long sleeve shirts and a lightweight leather jacket. No real winter gear. My whole closet is filled with mostly short sleeve shirts and sleeveless tops.
