Bellingham: 28 F w/ STRONG NE wind.

Mount Vernon: 30 F w/ NE wind.

Everett: 34 F w/ N wind.

Seattle: 40 F w/ E wind.

Temperatures continue to slowly drop. Currently at my house, it's 33 degrees with a light N wind. The next wave of precipitation is slowly making its way north...but it starting to dissipate as it runs into shallow, arctic air. How much snow will we all see tonight? I honestly have no idea.

I'm going to have a hard time sleeping tonight, that much I know. I think the moisture will make it though starting around 10 or 11 tonight.

A solid band is currently at Seattle. If it holds together, it should be at my house within the next 30 minutes. The big question; will it be rain or snow? Right now, I say it'll initially be in the form of rain. Hopefully it switches to snow...the arctic air is finally filtering into my area. BUT I'm not gonna get my hopes up...they've been shot down too many times this winter.

Wow, I wish Snow_Wizzard or WoodinvilleWeather were here. They could give us some good insite. I'm trying my best, but they know their stuff a lot better.

Vancouver, WA is getting snow. They are probably pulling cooler air out of Eastern WA/OR with that low sitting off the coast. It's pretty funny to think how the situation is turning out compared to how it was forecasted.

W13 - Its been over an hour (you said 10-20 minutes)... it should be snowing hard at your house now!!

Whats happening?

Radar shows moisture drying at it moves into areas with low dewpoints.

The precip is moving fairly slowly, but we are within 10 miles of it at this point. Walter Kelly on Q13 Fox (he is doing half-hour updates), says it is already snowing in Pe Ell, and many places south of where I live are getting snow or a rain/snow mix.

Currently 38 F with a Dew point of 23 F, I expect the temps to start to fall within the next hour or two, as the colder air from eastern Washington and BC is really starting to filter down.

Same here, K-Dub.

I just wish that our temperature would fall a little more and the Dew Point raise to about 30 F or something along those lines ...

Going to go check and see if it is snowing yet. Looks like we are starting to get under some heavier precip at the moment.

Temp - 37
Dewpoint - 22

SE winds at 18 mph

In a rain-type situation we would normally stay dry in this scenario. I expect the same tonight.

When winds are out of the west we get lots of orographic enhancement. It rains way more than other places.

When winds are out of the east or southeast we have downsloping off the Cascades and it is amazingly dry here even when raining in Seattle.

It will take quite a bit too break the dry air we have at the surface. I expect the radar to look like its raining/snowing out here but it will not reach the ground

This setup reminds me of the Nov '96 storm, similar setup. The modified arctic line is just a tad north this time, and not quite as cold. I recieved 6" in that storm, but I don't think seattle will get quite as much as that time, but they will see some.

Its not odd. Its virga. The air at the surface is too dry. You can tell by how it looks on the radar.

It will come eventually but it will be slow and probably fall as rain.

What time do you expect "precip" to start falling? Around midnight or so?

Looking at the latest 00z GFS, I don't think this will happen, but there is going to be some mighty cold air just across the boarder for several days. It wouldn't take much tweeking in the atmosphere to shift things a little south! That's all I will say about that. I exept the snow in my area by 10-11PM
