It's been an hour since the heavy snow started. Close to two inches. This band has been dropping snow at about 2 inches/hour.

2 and a half inches here, Looks like it's non stop for Belleville, IL for at least another 3 hours+ with another 2-3 inches possible Yard is completely covered and roads are so thick in snow, that when a car drives over it, the snow just stays there and covers it right back up. I told god a blessing and a thank you for this wonderful snow. I seem to be getting the worst of it here, if you want to call it worst, I'm enjoying it, and so is my 2 rottweilers and rat terrior, who could care less about the snow. I'm gonna possible have my 5-6 inches by the time I wake up. Better enjoy it then, because it will not last. I sent a report to NOAA about the progress of the snowfall. I'll give them a final report at the very end of the snow event. whole Neigbhorhood covered.

You will have more than 6 inches. In my area, the heavy band of snow has moved east, after dropping 2 inches in one hour. You should have at least another 2 hours just with this band, and likely another 4 inches for your area just with this band.

Here, the snow has stopped temporarily as the band has moved into Illinois. However, there is another very heavy band moving in. I think most areas will get 4+ inches, with some areas getting up to 8 inches.

Up to 5 inches right now with another 1 1/2 inch possible before midnight, so good call For me I'd say, and you as well. It was A BIG SURPRISE, it will still be on the Ground in full accumulation by Tomorrow Morning, with most if not all of it still on the Ground by Tomorrow night. after then though, bye bye it goes. But it was nice to finally get a snowfall that accually last more then a day here in the St. Louis, MO area.

The back edge is now pushing the Warren County/St. Charles County border. We got about 3 inches. Perhaps, we'll get 4 here. I'm glad we finally got a storm this season.

Still snowing hard, and probably will for another hour or so, and then end completely around 12:30AM just like I predicted. Most be good forecasting luck. Maybe this snow will cause the next week event to be more frozen then rain, but I highly dought that.

Final estimated total in Belleville, IL was 5.5 Inches with some places near 6 inches total. I was right on the Money literally. A few snow showers may contiune for another hour, before it all clears away on time at 1AM or earlier. Cloudy skies should be dominate through the rest of the night with occassional scattered flurries and fog patches, with the sun returning for tomorrow afternoon. Temperatures will take awhile to get above freezing due to recent snowfall. The coldest temperatures should be south of Saint Louis, MO where the most snow occurred with some areas with the heaviest snow bands where upto 6-8 inches fell in local areas. I've already submitted my Skywarn winter storm report, which should help them get an idea how this storm was like in the heavier snow belts. Highs tomorrow may only reach 33-36F with lows in the low to mid 20s and finally warming to the max by monday once most of the snow melts, and southern winds and clouds take over again. with more flooding issues again.

You were right on the money with snow totals, but remember that you said that the storm should still be dropping snow up until 9 AM. Even so, you did a FAR better jo at predicting snowfall totals than professional mets. Very, very good job!! Iimagine if it did last that long. We'd be pushing more than 15 inches of snow.
