Yes it did snow in Vegas yesterday. I saw pictures of it on the news. But they are at like 2000+ feet in elevation, so that might have helped them out some...

Yes, that picture is for real. I first saw it yesterday on another forum. Someone that lives close to Death Valley posted it and said they ended up with about six inches of snow. Old men living around the area are saying it is the most snow they have ever seen in Death Valley. People made snowmen but they were blown over by the strong winds that hit the area today.

What is the elevation of the sign? Surely its got to be a few thousand feet up.

Scorpian, death valley is Below Zero elevation.

Two Hundred and Seventy feet below zero to be exact although I suspect that the entrance to the Park, which is where the sign is, is probably somewhere around 500-1000 feet above. Since Vegas got snow, the snow levels were obviously low.
