I hate to be optimistic... I am sure I will be wrong... but the moisture moving into Portland is holding together nicely. It could survive the trip. Not likely... but it could.

Currently 32 F, Dew Point of 32 F, and the Humidity is at 100%, so the precip reaching the ground will not be a problem at all, at this point. I don't think the Dew Point will go down much either.

The precip is holding together really well, and it is good, moderate precip too. If it hits, it could be about an inch of snow an hour or more in some areas. Plus, the precip is covering a pretty large area, so if it hits it will hit most of the sound, no matter where you live (talking about the Central Sound, mainly, areas North may have the precip fizzle out and disspipate by then, too soon to tell though).

I will post again in an hour or two and update the situation.

Unfortunately the new run of the ETA show absolutely nothing tonight.

Of course we know what happened last night...

I hate to sound pessimistic, but with the surface low tracking south, alot of that moisture will follow. Although there's a nice band moving north, once that low moves further south, the moisture will travel with it. There's still the possibility of some snow...greatest chance south of Olympia.

If that precip is still tracking north by 8-10 PM, then I think we have a pretty good chance, don't you think? Been tracking North the last couple of hours, perfectly so far. Le's hope it keeps up! 8-)

W13,

I see what you're saying. But the surface low off the coast is currently tracking south. As it continues to progress, that moisture band should follow. I say it makes it to Olympia, then turns south and west.

Actually it looks like its running into an invisible wall. Not good.

Tuesday night looks good though.

Like TT says, looks like precip is hitting a wall down in Oregon.....Not looking real promising for tonight, but we do have next week to look foreward to! Plus snow still on the ground tonight won't be going anywhere, going to get quite chilly!
With the roads up here the way they are, I predict Lakewood (the school district I live in) will be 1-2hrs late in the morning. Took a drive to the golf course I work at, still covered in snow, so it looks like another snow day for me 8-)

The precip doesn't look it is hitting an invisible wall right now. An hour ago it was still south of Tilamook, Oregon, and now it is well north of there. I still think that we will get some snow tonight, probably Everett south. We will just have to wait and monitor the radar closely.

Precip still slowly moving north, now getting fairly close to the WA/OR Border. At this track, snow could start falling around 3-5 AM in Seattle/Tacoma area.

Leading edge of the precip should be crossing into South West Washington within the next hour, just west of Astoria. Still looking pretty good for the precip to move into the Seattle/tacoma area by early tommorow morning.

Maybe even into the Kelso area within the next hour, too.

The fog has for the most part cleared now, but it was very heavy for a little bit. Sitting at 30F with clear skies now too.
