I don't think Chad will have to concern himself with seeing her anytime soon.

I know the feeling. When I was in the Navy, one of the sailors I was stationed with got arrested for molesting his child. Never saw the bastard again.....MGC

Add rapists, torturers and child molesters to that, and you GOT it! :grrr: Such "people" (I hesitate to ascribe "human being" to them) are at the bottom of the food chain in prisons, anyway...justice will be served, one way or another.

Not all that unusual to have a sex offender among us. But often a shock to learn that someone you know is one.

When our son and his wife had their first child (Emma), the lived just about ten minutes from David Westerfield...not only a molester, but a killer as well. They do have a registered offender living in their neighborhood now...and he knows that they know...and that's a good thing.

Most areas have maps such as these to check on where offenders live in your neighborhood. Check it out if you haven't already.

We found it interesting that here in Scottsdale Mike Tyson was listed on the local map when we checked out the local sex offender lists.

Ditto on the Oh My God response. I actually said that outloud. Scum like this are supposed to be people we think are normal, that we encounter at church, the mall, in our neighborhood. Doesn't surprise me you worked with them. But I'm sure it's still a major shock. Makes you think twice about people sometimes. Then again, there are many in my life, I know w/o a doubt would never do something like this. It's the casual acquaintances you wonder about.

Sad isn't it? Sick is more like this.

Weird...today I just happened to be looking at the TX sex offenders database that's linked to the Galveston Police Dept's website. I typed in my zip code and scanned the list. There's a guy who now lives at the first place I lived when I moved here six years ago. I wonder if my old landlord knows about his history. I sure as heck wouldn't want to still be living there now.

You can add child abusers and spiritual abusers to the list.

My sentiments, exactly....those serving LIFE (plus)
in Prison will give them everything that they have
coming to them - in an unpleasant kind of way!!!

Physical, emotional and spiritual abusers fall into the same category, BUT...the two latter are much more difficult to "prove" in a court of law. Yet, they are just as culpable, IMHO, as the "battering" sort.

I've run across a few people in my life with similar issues. Make me wonder if I'm some kind of freak magnet. There was a guy I hung out with a couple times, but he started acting kind of creepy, began hitting on me, wanted to carry a gun in my car, so that ended that. I was about 22 at the time and really didn't know how to handle it. About a year or so later, a friend of mine and I are at a bar when the 11pm news comes on, and there's our guy, being led away in handcuffs, arrested for soliciting sex from a teenage boy online.

Then there was the guy I knew a little bit back in college who years later I read was arrested for running a teenage prostitution ring.

I was friends with someone who I found out later had solicited kiddie stuff. He had lots of skeletons in his closet, though, and moved away to escape the disgrace. Haven't heard from him since. I'm still friends with his ex-girlfriend, though. Man, was she shocked.
